Wow - and to think way back when Hooman Mom and Hooman Dad had to move in all by themselves and hope the elevators worked on moving day! Now they get helpers! That's nice - I wonder if they will carry me in too?
Volunteers are sought for the tenth annual Montana State University Move-In Day, set 8:30 a.m.-3 p.m., Wednesday, Aug. 25.
Volunteers from both MSU and the community will help move an expected 1,700 new students into their residence halls. Shifts are 2 1/2-hours long. Volunteers new to the event receive a free MSU vest. Members of the community who would like to volunteer for the student welcome event may call the MSU President's Office, 994-2341, by Friday, Aug. 13.
While no volunteers are needed, the community is invited to attend another MSU annual event that kicks off the beginning of the school year. Catapalooza, a three-day, fair-like event for new and returning MSU students, will be held from 10 a.m.-3 p.m. Aug 25- 27 on the university's Centennial Mall. More than 200 clubs, organizations, and businesses participate in Catapalooza, offering music, entertainment, food and give-away items. The public is invited to attend. Groups from the community and campus have until Aug. 13 to register for a booth where goods, services and products can be displayed. For more information about Catapalooza, visit the Web site at: www.montana.edu/catapalooza, or call the MSU Dean of Students Office, 994-2826.
